Fibrefest - 22nd & 23rd August 2009

The Somerset Guild of Weavers, Spinners & Dyers had a display/demonstration stand at Fibrefest 2009, Coldharbour Mill. Saturday volunteers included Carol Mellish, Norma Sanders and Talitha Clarke. Pictured above is Sunday's team Rita Ovens, Helen Cridland and Margaret Banerji.

We met some lovely people, several from visting guilds as far a field as Kent, and coped with numerous questions from the inquisitive. Margaret worked her magic with those who wanted to have a go at spinning, with 100% success. Both days were very busy, with throngs of like-minded people keeping the vendors (including fellow Guild member Amanda Hannanford with her MandaCrafts stand - pictured below) on their toes. We all managed to get some time to wander around the stalls, (and spend money).

This was the second FibreFest, it is a bi-annual event, and if you have never been I urge you to try and make it in 2011, it is a real treat. Keep your eye on the Fibrefest website for further details.
