Hello,
I am making enquiries for my sister who lives in Bristol. She has a Varpapuu loom but is no longer able to weave. If there is anyone in your guild who might be interested could you please pass on this info. The loom has been dismantled but was in good condition when I last saw it. I’m not sure what price she would want but I’m sure it would be a reasonable one. It just needs to go to a good home where it would get some use.
I’m including 2 pictures but I’m not quite sure which it is.

Best wishes,
Eileen Tilley (28.1.12)

If anyone is interested please email me and I will forward the two pictures that came with the email as this page is not able to hold pictures.
Thanks
Anita

Forgive me sending this email unsolicited but I wonder whether you or your members might be interested in buying, as decorative items, some vintage weaving shuttles from Thailand. They all come from hand looms which are still used in villages in the remoter parts of the country to make beautiful cotton and silk scarves and shawls.

I have a good collection of them and am selling them at £10 each. I have attached some photos so you can see what they look like. People here in Thailand like to use them as stylish and unique holders for things like business cards, ear-rings, coins etc.

My father lives in Somerset and I will be visiting in January and would happily bring some over and post them to anyone who is interested. Payment could then be arranged afterwards.

I know this must seem like a very forward proposal but I truly think they are beautiful objects with so much history and tradition behind them and I thought your members, who obviously care enough to keep such traditions alive, might have a real affinity for them.

Very best wishes and apologies once again for sending this mail unsolicited.

Regards,
